Solo bikepacking in Northern Chile: the aftermovie.(S4 P1:E4)

My solo cycling adventure during my fourth season in Chile (S4 P1) was truly an extraordinary experience. When entering a country and culture unknown to me, my feelings were initially mixed, but after the first week I felt at home in this hospitable country.

Cycling Adventure 15 (CA15) is my path of personal growth with which I want to inspire people to develop their own path of personal growth in this rapidly changing world.

The choice to go against the current to the desert-like north turned out to be a bull's eye. The trip took me through breathtaking nature, with both feet firmly on the ground, and sharpened my awareness of the world around me. This experience made a deep impression on me.

It was also a tough physical and mental effort to cover the kilometers due to the altitude, the high temperatures above 40 degrees and the headwind downhill. There were days when it was really hard, and I sometimes wondered why I was doing it. But the cordial encounters and the beautiful country made me forget that.

The insight I gained on my solo cycling adventure reminds me that solo cycling is the ultimate way to discover places you wouldn't explore as a tourist. It forces you to talk to other people, something you might do less of if you were traveling in a group. For me, this is the most convincing way to experience such unique experiences. I am even more convinced of this.

After three weeks of digital detox, during which I consciously ignored WhatsApp and news reports, I noticed noticeably more peace in my head. This experience has motivated me to seriously consider how I handle digital stimuli in the future and strive to have a more balanced use.

Stay tuned for the second part of season (S4 P2) from early July 2024! In the coming months, discover which fascinating destination I will explore this time on my solo cycling adventure.
