Ride 2-6/16 Cycle through the Netherlands and Germany to Copenhagen in Denmark. (S2:E3)

During this second season (S2), I will devote all my attention to Incar Dansspektakel, a fantastic organization with young people who are bubbling with energy on and off stage and who give the best of themselves. Silke and Kuerten had given me a lot of assignments to put Incar in the spotlight. With great pleasure I accepted the challenge as you can see in the video that took me some time to make. This makes this report a little less extensive this time 😉

Cycling Adventure 15 (CA15) is my path of personal growth with which I want to inspire people to develop their own path of personal growth in this rapidly changing world.

In the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark they now know what Incar Dansspektakel stands for 🙂

The second day I left in the village of Oss where I slept with a family. There was a wedding going on in the neighbor's backyard, but luckily I had my earplugs with me. The second ride took me together with a radiant sun along picturesque villages. In the meantime I can compare the bicycle paths of the Netherlands with those of Germany and Denmark. It must be said that the Dutch cycle paths are a relief and are head and shoulders above the rest. Master Jos, whom I met along the way and who annually cycles more than 25000 km, told me that a lot of road tax is paid in exchange for the beautiful bicycle paths. I'm not against it at all. A place of interest is the Hoge Veluwe National Park, where most of the landscape dates back to the Ice Age.

I usually arrive at my accommodation around 17 pm and I leave before 8 am. On arrival I wash my clothes, rest a bit and have dinner. I try to eat a meal consisting of half a plate of vegetables, a quarter potatoes or rice, and a quarter lean meat or fish. This is necessary to have enough energy the next day.

The third day I cycled through Germany to Cloppenburg, a cozy village near Bremen. I spent the night in a quiet hotel next to the park. The fourth day I cycled to Hamburg, the second largest city in Germany. Only the capital Berlin has more inhabitants. I cycled through the beautiful Old Elbtunnel that was opened in 1911. For that time it was a technical tour de force: 426 meters long and 24 meters below the surface of the water. Large elevators take you down and up. A true experience.

The fifth day I cycled along boring main roads for a while until I saw the beautiful Fehmarn island in front of me. Cycling across the bridge is an art in itself because of the wind. But the real surfing enthusiasts will be happy to pay for it. Fehmarn is a real paradise for surfers. Day 6 started with a lot of rain. After an hour of cycling I took the ferry to Copenhagen, the place where I enjoyed my first rest day. At the time as a pilot I had many flights to Copenhagen, but never had enough time to see the city. It must be said that it is pleasant to stay in the city. Copenhagen is also a true paradise for cyclists.

During my rides I focused with great pleasure on the assignments that I was given to put Incar Dansspektakel in the spotlight. Fortunately, there are very cool people in the world who have lent me a hand. Thanks to Willem, Jos, Mattias, Frank, Anne and Erik for the help!
