Stage 1/15 – Departure towards Moriles and the hot sun (S1:E3)

I was very happy today that it finally happened. It was also time for my family. Because I have to admit that I've been a bit nervous the last few days during our vacation.

In good company I was waved goodbye this morning in beautiful Marbella together with our good friends. If I heard correctly they will do that every season ;).

Cycling Adventure 15 (CA15) is my path of personal growth with which I want to inspire people to develop their own path of personal growth in this rapidly changing world.

It must be said, I was warned in advance. Inland temperatures rise seriously to almost 49°. At regular intervals I had to put myself in the shade and take off my cycling shoes to cool my feet. The warm weather also made the ride much more difficult. What also struck me is that you could easily organize cycling races on Sundays. You hardly meet anyone. Nice cycling that way.

After 8 hours and 30 minutes on the bike I arrived in Moriles. A typical Spanish village where I found exactly one person who spoke English. In other words, I was the only one who didn't speak Spanish. It was the son of a manager of the pizzeria where I went to eat a salad. I told him that I am doing a long trip to Belgium by bike. But there was not much interest in it. During the ride I did meet a pleasant lady with her two children. They live in Madrid and came on holiday in the interior. When I explained the CA15 concept they were very surprised and enthusiastic. I hope to meet many more people with whom I can have a good chat. It can only enrich me.
